jSon is the founder of the SURFACE | studio a design studio based in Zhuhai, China.  Along with designing he is a studio master working

within the Department of Architecture at Zhuhai College of Science and Technology.  The SURFACE | studio operates concurrently as a design

practice, research vessel and teaching forum.  The synthesis of abstract and concrete expressive forms allows thought to concentrate on

essences and phenomena (ontology and phenomenology) that stimulate the emergence of potentialities that touch others.  Holding a

Master of Architecture and  Urban Design from Cornell University (USA) and a Bachelors of Architectural Design from Iowa State University (USA), Json continues to work with select students on projects, exhibitions, texts, and design projects so that others may sense as if to notice…

Since forming the studio he has designed and developed a variety of architecture, landscape urbanism, and interior design projects in 

cooperation with Chinese architecture companies.   The SURFACE | studio has also produced and curated a series of exhibitions with architects, students.  Prior to forming the studio he taught courses at Iowa State University, USA and work in a variety of architecture

firms throughout the USA.
